I meant to post this before the end of the year but that didn't work out... obviously.

I read 146 books in 2008, all but one of them between January & March. 140 volumes of manga, 4 graphic novels, & two 'regular' books. (*sigh* Just reading those numbers makes me miss my old library something fierce.)

When I checked a few days ago, I hadn't realised it had been so long since I'd done a books manga post. So this got fairly long. :D

[I tried to write up a decent review of most of them, but I kinda winged the last half. I was finding myself getting rather repetitive.]

( My whole life, I'd read that love was the most wonderful feeling a girl could ever hope to experience. Those books had a lot to answer for. (Books Read: #71-155). )

The last time I wrote this up, I was at #37. Now I'm at #70. :D For not starting until the middle of October, I'm ending the year on a positive note.

And, yeah, it's all shoujo again. (I'm working on venturing into other things. Just not very successfully.)

I really need to make myself a 'manga is my master now' icon. (I joked about it in my last manga-centric entry, but now I think I'm fairly serious. :D) I have this post to write & then sometime tonight I need to write up a organisational post. (I overthink things, but we already knew that, didn't we?)

A few weeks ago, I had this brilliant idea to just check out the first volumes of a bunch of different manga titles, figuring that I'd find maybe a handful of titles that I would want to continue reading... *headdesk* With the exception of Kill Me, Kiss Me (for reasons explained here), I've at least liked everything, if not outright loved 'em. • Bones. 3x03: Death in the Saddle, 3x04: The Secret in the Soil, 3x05: The Mummy in the Maze, 3x06: Intern in the Incinerator, 3x07: Boy in the Time Capsule, & 3x08: The Knight on the Grid.
  It was neat seeing Christina Cox (of Blood Ties) in a different sort of role in 'Death in the Saddle'. I really liked how they used a current event ( ( Read more... )

I think I'm becoming addicted to manga. Seriously. I have a stack of 'regular books' & a stack of manga -- and guess which stack is almost empty? :D Manga has given me back my love of reading. Before Assassination Vacation & then Suzuka, I hadn't read a book in months. Now -- I've read four volumes of various manga in the past day or so. :D ( Read more... )

It looks like I should feel miserable more often -- I've read two books so far today, and that might be a record for this year (unfortunately). I'm focusing a bit on manga right now, because the library has a decent selection & I've been meaning to read more anyways.
